Day Trip to Thessaloniki
A day in the life of a high school student could seem boring and difficult. School, studying, extracurricular activities, more studying, sleeping, and again from the start. A break from this routine is of course educational school trips. After all, these are the things we will remember when we grow up. One of those was our school trip to the historical city of Thessaloniki on the 21st of October 2022.
Firstly, with our visit to the Archeological Museum of Thessaloniki, which is located in the center of the city, we learned about the city's ancient history and creation from the prehistoric until late antiquity. Later, with the Erasmus team and the two guest students, Helena and Maria, we walked towards one of the city's most well-known attraction, the white tower. During our visit, we went back in time and saw Thessaloniki from the perspective of the people who lived back then, when the white tower was still a fortress or a prison.
After, we took a tour with Helena and Maria to other landmarks of the city, such as Aristotelous square, the statue of Alexander the great, the apse of Galerius, Rotunda, the Greco-Roman market and the holocaust monument.
After our visits to the museums, we had the time to appreciate the city's center, the fantastic food, the cafés, to relax while walking along the seafront of Thessaloniki.
It was a fun day for everyone, a day that we will remember from our school years. These School trips are a different way of learning, an alternative way, and for the students more pleasurable. Therefore: Let's repeat it!
Finally, let's not forget to thank our tour guides for all the interesting things that they showed us. Mrs. Moshou Pati, Mrs. Moshou Maria, Mrs. Zahariadou Stratoula and Mrs Katergari Triantafillia.
